Pakistan Academy of Letters AWARD 2008 to Peter Curman and Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed
Peter Curman was decorated with the "The Quaid-i-Azam International Award for Literature" and Benazir Bhutto with "The Quaid-i-Awam International Award for Democracy".
My dear Peter,
I am pleased to inform you that the Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) has awarded you "The Quaid-i-Azam International Award for Literature". The Award carries Pak. Rupees Two Million (US$25,000/-). This was announced by me in a Press Conference yesterday. The other award “The Quaid-i-Awam International Award for Democracy” has been nominated for Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed.
Today’s National News Papers in Pakistan have carried the news prominently.

"My poetry begins as a private experience"
Peter Curman, a well-known Swedish poet, has been recently
awarded Quaid-i-Azam International Award for Literature by
Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL). His first selection of poetry
appeared in 1965. He has published twelve books of poetry,
anthologies and a novel (Meltdown, 1998).
